SAM BARSH is a keyboardist, composer and producer/songwriter. His band, the SAM BARSH GROUP focuses on the raw, funky and tripped out side of things, mixing jazz, r&b electro-ambience and intense energy. Aside from his group, Barsh can be seen performing with ZACH BROCK and the COFFEE ACHEIVERS, KENA SAGE, and other fine musical organizations.
For the past 3 years Barsh toured and recorded with the AVISHAI COHEN TRIO. He has performed with a diverse group of artists, including: CASSANDRA WILSON, BOBBY MCFERRIN, DAVE SAMUELS (of Spyro Gyra), LONNIE PLAXICO, DEBBIE FRIEDMAN, MAURICE BROWN, CHRISTOPHE SCHWEIZER, BEN MONDER, BRANFORD MARSALIS, KENNY WOLLESSEN, RAVI COLTRANE and ROBIN EUBANKS.
He is featured on the AVISHAI COHEN TRIO CDs "At Home" and "Continuo" and "Live at the Blue Note," guitarist JEFF PARKER'S (of Tortoise) "The Relatives," rapper REDMAN's "Red Gone Wild," LONNIE PLAXICO's "So Alive" and two CDs by ZACH BROCK and the COFFEE ACHEIVERS, among others.
Additionally, Barsh is an avid songwriter, and has been busy writing and producing r&b and pop songs with collaborators CURTIS "MEGA" WATTS, RYAN ZOIDIS and KODACHROME.
